The Dallas Police Department also shared in a Friday morning blog post that all flags will fly at half-staff at city facilities.
Police departments and sheriff’s offices across Texas offered their support to the officers and to the Dallas Police Department.
The suspect was killed in Lewisville after a lengthy chase with police. The city’s police department said none of its officers were involved in the shooting and posted a message of support on their Facebook page.
“Lewisville Police Department is heart broken, extend our deepest sympathies, and prayers and thoughts to the Dallas Police Department and their families,” the post said.
